The future's bright...

Sometimes things just work. The UK has been blanketed by snow in the last day or two, and yesterday I ventured outside with some friends of mine to have a play and, more importantly, get some pictures of them playing!
This is my friend Claire. During the course of a snowball fight, she got a text, and never being one to put off seeing who may have sent her a text, she opened her phone to read her message....and I turned and took this shot.
Photos are fragments of time. A second earlier or later, her expression would have changed and the smile lost. Fortunately for me, I was shooting fairly wide open on the aperture, so depth of field was minimal. Here it draws attention to her mouth and the out of focus phone provides context. I think it's called serendipity.
